토요신명: 명품레퍼토리(라형)-강선영류 태평무

ㅇ 태평무는 왕실의 번영과 나라의 태평성대를 기원하기 위하여 왕비 또는 왕이 직접 춤을춘다는 내용을 담은 민속춤이다. 무용가 한성준이 무대공연 작품으로 완성한 이 춤은 경기 무악(巫樂)에서 유래한 토속적인 가락과 32박 도당굿 장단에 맞춰 춘다. 복잡한 장단을 경쾌하게 가로지르는 발디딤과 장단 사이사이에 발로 원을 그리며 굴리는 기교적인 발짓은 이 춤만이 가진 멋이다. 국가무형문화재 제92호로 지정되어 있다.

ㅇ Taepyeongmu
Taepyeongmu originally refers to a dance performed by the king or the queen praying for peace and prosperity of the royal kingdom, but the piece performed nowadays is the one choreographed by Han Seong-jun, a great artist in the 20th century. It features solemn but rapid movements of the dancer’s feet, the gesture of which drawing circle in the air in between rhythmic patterns in an impressive and sophisticated manner. The accompaniment music employs rhythmic patterns used in the gut shaman ritual from Gyeonggi province.
