Aside from the Indigenous to the 2008 Beijing Olympics series. In 1996 Atlanta Olympics.
The music of Taiwan's indigenous people made its international debut for the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta. That year, one of German band Enigma's songs -- Return to Innocence - was picked to promote the Games. The song, in fact, contains a part of the Amis traditional song "palafang", which is sang by the Amis elder couple Kuo Ying-nan, a.k.a. Difang Duana, and his wife Kuo Hsiu-chu from Taiwan's Falangau Community. Their beautiful voices impressed the world but Enigma failed to given them credit. The band used the voice of Difang Duana without his consent. After three years of court battle, they finally reached an out-of-court settlement.
