It was 90 years ago that Obon dancing was taught in America by Rev. Yoshio Iwanaga. Not only did Rev. Iwanaga teach in Oregon but also in Washington and California. Obon no Uta was his creation and is the traditional opening dance of many Obon Festivals both religious and non-secular.
