Last year, in 2016, San Beda College Alabang—our beloved institution—introduced the 10 Hallmarks of Benedictine Education as part of its aim is to instill the teachings and principles of the Saint.
From the ten, we started off by promoting the hallmarks of Stewardship and Love for Christ and Neighbor. And for this Academic Year 2017-2018, the limelight will be given to PRAYER—a life marked by lectio, liturgy, and mindfulness, and DISCIPLINE—a way towards learning and freedom.
But that doesn't mean that the others should already be forgotten! In the long run, the embodiment of these hallmarks must extend beyond the four walls of the classroom, and into the bigger world as we step outside--shaping us into bold, undaunted men of prayer work and peace as our hymn has always chanted.
That in all things, God may be glorified!
