Not initially relegated to exposure just during the Christmas season, this now-standard wintertime tune by Jule Styne and Sammy Cahn reached its peak of popularity during the months of January and February 1946, with the Monroe recording topping the best-sellers charts. Note that there is also a much later Monroe stereo re-make of the tune commonly found, but this ‘40s post is the original hit.
