This time I went to see the Awa Odori in Koenji! I recently watched the Awa Odori in Japan in Tokushima, and it was fun to watch the Awa Odori in Tokyo as well, as each group's individuality came out.

[About Koenji Awa Odori(Dance)]
The roots of Koenji Awa Odori are the ``Koenji Baka Odori,'' which was organized by a youth group in a shopping district in 1957. At that time, people dressed in white makeup and yukata paraded around the city performing a dance that was completely different from Awa Odori. that's right.
After that, they received instruction from the Tokushima Kenjinkai Group, and their dancing skills improved dramatically. In 1963, the name was officially changed to "Koenji Awa Odori."
Nowadays, various ren have been born, and the festival has grown in scale with the participation of the authentic group from Tokushima, and it has become one of Tokyo's leading festivals, attracting approximately 1 million spectators every year.
