Breaking out in the late ‘60s with a record-shattering Columbia deal, Johnny rose fast with albums like The Progressive Blues Experiment, Johnny Winter, Second Winter, and Still Alive and Well. His wild playing fused Delta blues with psychedelic rock, earning him acclaim and legendary status.

Beyond his solo career, Johnny famously produced Muddy Waters’ Grammy-winning comeback albums—Hard Again, I’m Ready, and King Bee—cementing his place as both a performer and a preserver of the blues. His final studio album Step Back won a Grammy posthumously and proved his brilliance never dimmed.
