Dream on is a famous power ballad from the legendary rock group Aerosmith that tries to convey the message "if you can dream it enough, you can do it".

Although it may sound weird today, at the time of initial release (1973) the song did not perform very well. It had to be re-released in 1976, in a longer format (~4:30m) as opposed to the shorter 1973 version which misses most of the intro and has a few other differences. Also, Joe Perry wasn't too fond of the song himself, as at the time he preferred straight up rock songs than ballads.

Eventually, the 1976 version took new exposure and acquired the anthem status that it holds today.
