"The Greatest Horn in the World' album showcases Al Hirt at the top of his game. Released in 1961 and accompanied by Henri Rene's orchestra, this is Hirt's 2nd RCA Victor release. The first 6 songs use a swing/jazz style, set against a big band backdrop, while the next 6 are ballads using a string section. The album landed on the Billboard 200 chart in 1961, reaching #21.
