Description
"American Folk Suite" is a five-movement set of six folk songs (the fourth movement combines both “The Housewife’s Lament” and “Single Girl”), with ties to the early American experience. The stories in each song are told from a very female point of view and deal with some aspect of romantic love, although not necessarily always the pleasant side of love.
