An energetic Anupama Gunambudhi in ragam Atana in Khanda Chapu, composed by Thyagaraja. He pleads with deity Rama on why He hesitates to take Shri Thyagaraja under his protection despite being a repository of all sorts of auspicious qualities. From my concert at Nada Sudha, Chennai at the Margazhi Music season 2023-24. Accompanied by Karun Salvady on the mridangam and Deekshitha Balaji on violin.

I barely think of myself as superstitious. But sometimes a sign is just too obvious to shrug off. Just like how you see a rainbow and you can't help but be happy. In just that way, my opener at Chennai's Margazhi music concert season fell serendipitously at Nadha Sudha. ; the venue for which is at the Sachidhanandha Ganapathi Ashram.

A life-size photograph of Sri Sachidhanandha Swami looked upon us, blessing and benevolent, as we performed - a team equal parts dynamic and charming, with the dynamic department taken care of Karun Salvady and the charm - Deekshitha Balaji.

The coincidence is my completely unplanned, but now impossibly unchangeable CarnatiCalifornia tradition - that I start off most new students with the bhajan Jai Jai Ganapathi in the pleasant, river-like flow of Yamuna Kalyani, composed by Shri Sachidhandha Ganapathi. It is as old as CarnatiCalifornia, and hence my 2nd life of music full-time, and coincidentally also marked the beginning of my 2nd innings at the Margazhi Season.
