"As Long As He Needs Me" was written by Lionel Bart for the 1960 Musical "Oliver". The song was originally sung by the wonderful Georgia Brown. "Oliver" won the Tony Award for Best Original Score. The 1968 film version directed by Carol Reed was the winner of six Academy Awards including Best Picture. This power vocal version of "As Long As He Needs Me" was recorded by the great Eydie Gorme for her 1965 studio album "Eydie Gorme Sings The Great Songs From The Sound Of Music & Other Broadway Hits".
