The lovely Barbara Mason with 'Yes, It's You' from 1970. National General was a Jimmy Bishop label, and Jimmy had been a partner in Arctic as well. Distribution on this track I can't believe was that good, because this should have been a hit. Another of those sweet Barbara Mason recordings, one which again features that seminal Philly Sound. Jimmy Bishop and Bobby Martin used many of the guys who would define the genre with Gamble and Huff. Barbara Mason's records are totally engaging, and her vocals so very distinctive that I'm always drawn right into the music. Enjoy one that doesn't get very much attention, but should.
