The Bengals Growl was written by George "Red" Bird, a former neighbor of team founder Paul Brown, in 1968. Since then, it has been played after every Bengals touchdown in Cincinnati, first at Nippert Stadium (home of the Cincinnati Bearcats), Riverfront Stadium and most recently at Paul Brown Stadium (The Jungle)
