Written in 1961 by Roy Orbison and Joe Melson, and originally sung and recorded by Orbison for his international hit in 1963. But many people are more familiar with Linda Ronstadt's 1977 cover, which became a top-5 hit. Many Ronstadt fans think of Blue Bayou as her signature song.
