Recorded in 1971, this is a unique and amazing rendition of the popular song from the musical "Paint Your Wagon" as sung by the late Bob Oates. It would have been easy for Bob to sing it as a ballad all the way through just as everyone else has done, and he would have done a beautiful job. But a true artist "makes it his own" by performing it in a unique way. Some may argue that this version is too fast, but Bob's transition that begins at 1:30 demonstrates his versatility and made this a truly beautiful and unique work.
