Being myself being a die-hard D’Arienzo fan, please allow me these few words as a humble homage to Fulvio Salamanca, that unknown kid that departing from a little town in the interior of Argentina came to the orchestra to supplant a person that... left D’Arienzo without orchestra! (Yes... I’m talking about Juan Polito).
Fulvio little by little developed his own style, refusing “copycatting” the great Biagi. When he created his new orchestra in 1957, the new sound was in the antipodes of D’Arienzo… Why? An act of revenge after the 17-year tenure? We all know how unbearable Juancito was in day-to-day life… Well.. history will tell… now, just let's enjoy Fulvio on the piano and the violin variations from Elvino Vardaro… the unmatched violinist of all times… Carpe Diem!
