Never thought that I would live to see the privileged and elite who now surround me
Conflating solidarity, barbarity with love and peace
I was taught to keep my shut when it comes to politics, religion and family
But it’s all around me

Don’t shut me out
Come talk to me
My people live between the river and the sea
That’s where we are
That’s where we stand
It’s always been the same
In this broken promised land
