Also, there is a very direct and creepy connection to the spirit world there that resonates in me. “Royal Street Swingdown” is about that thin veneer that exists between us and the world beyond. For my family crows are animals that traverse the barrier between this world and the next, bringing messages from other dimensions. Very often in my dreams do I see those above ground mausoleums of St Louis cemetery in the French Quarter filling up with swirling, malted milk colored Mississippi river water. Who is trying to contact me? Who is dressed up as a little bird?”
