This work depicts the joyous scene of song and dance pageant in the most solemn traditional festival of the Dai people in Yunnan Province. It embodies the joyful festival atmosphere when people chasing each other while splashing water in the deafening sound of gongs and drums.

Liu Wenjin was a well-known contemporary Chinese composer and conductor. He had served as the Director and Artistic Director of China National Traditional Orchestra, President and Artistic Consultant of China National Opera & Dance Drama Theater and so on. Over half a century, Liu Wenjin had created so many national music woks and made great contributions to the national music world.
