‘Como la luna y el sol’ es la canción que da título al segundo album de Ana Alcaide.

Así como la luna y el sol siempre se buscan y nunca se encuentran, así los sefardíes sueñan con regresar a Sefarad.

Este verso pertenece a una canción sefardí conservada en Turquía (‘yo hanino’) y para mi simbolizan la relación que tenemos con todo lo lejano e inalcanzable.
Hace más de cinco siglos los sefardíes fueron expulsados de estas tierras. A lo largo del tiempo, lograron preservar su cultura, su castellano medieval y su anhelo por volver a España. Los sefardíes siempre tuvieron un deseo por reencontrarse con su patria madre, pero a la vez un rechazo hacia ella por la expulsión a la que fueron sometidos.

La relación de los sefardíes con Sefarad representa el desencuentro y la búsqueda permanente de los que amamos y permanece inalcanzable…su historia es la misma que la de todos aquellos que se alejan de lo que aman como precio de su libertad.
Los sefardíes sueñan con Sefarad como la luna y el sol se buscarán siempre, y como todos soñamos y perseguimos lo que amamos y no tenemos’

'Como la luna y el sol' is the title song of Ana Alcaide's second album.

Just as the moon and the sun are forever in search of one another and just never find each other, just as the Sephardim dream of returning to Sepharad.

This verse belongs to a Sephardic song preserved in Turkey ('yo hanino') and for me they symbolize the relationship we have with everything distant and unattainable.
More than five centuries ago the Sephardim were expelled from these lands. Over time, they managed to preserve their culture, their medieval Castilian and their longing to return to Spain. The Sephardim always had a desire to reunite with their motherland, but at the same time a rejection of it due to the expulsion to which they were subjected.

The relationship of the Sephardim with Sefarad represents the disagreement and the permanent search for those we love and remains unattainable...their story is the same as that of all those who distance themselves from what they love as the price of their freedom.
The Sephardim dream of Sefarad as the moon and the sun will always search for each other, and as we all dream and pursue what we love and do not have.
