Consecutively Number Cases to Create an Identification Variable in SPSS

When handling data in IBM SPSS Statistics software, it is very useful to have an identification number, or ID variable, for each case. When you do not have an ID variable, you can create one to consecutively number cases in your SPSS dataset using the $CASENUM command. This video will show you how to create a new variable that contains a unique identification number for every case.
