💡Pantokrator mountain (also known as Pantokratoras or Pantocrator) is the highest peak on the Greek island of Corfu, located in the northwestern part of the island. It stands at an elevation of 906 meters (2,971 feet) above sea level, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding landscape and the Ionian Sea. The mountain is part of the Corfu Mountains, a range of limestone peaks that cover much of the island.
The name “Pantokrator” comes from the Greek words “Pantokratoras”, which means “all-powerful” or “all-ruler”. This name is fitting, given the mountain’s prominent position and its role as a landmark for the island.

The mountain is covered in lush greenery, including forests of olive trees, pine trees, and cypress trees, which offer a habitat for a variety of wildlife such as deer, wild boar, and birds of prey. The slopes of the mountain are also dotted with traditional villages and hamlets, such as Klimataria and Koukounaries, which offer a glimpse into the island’s rich history and culture.
