Description
Julie London was known for her knock out looks, sultry style and deep smoky, cognac drenched singing voice. Her career was actually first in film where she starred with actors such as Rock Hudson, Robert Taylor, John Cassavetes, and Robert Mitchum. While recording she continued acting and played herself in the 1956 film “The Girl Can’t Help It”. During the 70s, she had a starring role in the television drama “Emergency” which lasted for six years. “Cry Me A River” was written by Arthur Hamilton in 1953, and made famous in 1955 with the version by Julie London. London performed "Cry Me a River" in the 1956 film “The Girl Can’t Help It”. Even though the song has been recorded by many great singers including Ella Fitzgerald, Barbra Streisand and Shirley Bassey, the song will always be associated with Julie London.
