Grabbed a last minute reservation at @manteca_london in Shoreditch and it was a whole vibe! Lots of different open counter/kitchen stations so you can feel in on the action no matter which part of the restaurant you’re sitting in.

To start the ricotta with chili and fennel pollen is a must! Of course you need some of the wildfarmed rosemary focaccia to enjoy it with. Every bite perfection!

We also tried the cornish bluefin tuna crudo with frigatelli peppers and green chilli! I don’t usually eat raw fish but wow I enjoyed this a lot! Melt in your mouth fish with a zesty and chilli kick. Expect to see me trying more crudo in the near future!

Now I came here for one thing and one thing only and that’s Manteca’s famous brown crab cacio e pepe Tonnarello. The pasta was cooked to perfection and the deep crab flavours in the sauce really worked for me. A surprise delivery of croutons were just what was needed to mop up that crabby sauce at the end.

Chigsy rated his duck ragu very highly. Of course I had a taste too and agree wholeheartedly!

The salad was a big crowd pleaser! Heaps of mint so every bite of the fennel and mixed leaf salad was a burst of freshness.

Highly recommend! Oh and ask for the brown crab cacio e Pepe if it’s not on the menu! You might get lucky.
