About Deuter:
Born in 1945 in post-war Germany in the town of Falkenhagen. As a child he was drawn to sounds of nature and musical instruments. He taught himself the guitar, flute, harmonica and "just about every instrument I could get my hands on," though it wasn’t until after a near-fatal car crash, while working as a journalist that he decided to pursue a career in music. His first release in 1970, titled D, marked the beginning of Deuter's spiritual and musical journey He combined acoustic and electronic elements with ethnic instrumentation and nature sounds, such as bird songs and crickets, paving the way for a new genre of music known as New Age.
Deuter traveled extensively in Asia during the 1970s and 1980s in search of spiritual and creative inspiration while studying Indian music.
He has learned an ever-expanding array of instruments, including the flute, guitar, sitar, koto, shakuhachi flute ,Tibetan singing bowls, santoor, bouzouki, piano, keyboard and drums. He records his own projects and has released over 60 albums.
