Description
Written by the great W.B. Yeats from memories of an overheard song, published first in 1890, and later recorded by many different artists. Salleys are willow trees, that grow low and thick and lean in wet areas. I recorded this on St Patrick's Day 2020: the country is essentially locked down in the face of the Covid-19 virus pandemic and we are cut off in our homes finding ways to stay steady and sane.
