Description: The Lilienlied seems to have originated only around 1830 as a song from old fragments, and was first sung by students in Heidelberg, Jena and Göttingen. Probably after a drinking originated mix of older songs from Thuringia and Saxony; also in Swabia, on the Rhine and in Upper and Lower Hesse known and still much sung. Melody and large parts of the text come from the hunter song "Es blies ein Jäger wohl in sein Horn".
