Description
The Christ Church Cathedral Choir is performing Patrick Wedd's “The Throne of God”, featuring Normand Richard, baritone, and Patrick Wedd, direction.
Patrick Wedd on his work: “On Sunday, November 22, 1998 the Cathedral congregation celebrated the conclusion of major exterior restoration to the building. Included in that restoration was the re-carving of two biblical texts, one beneath the great east window, and one surrounding the Chapter House. These are the two texts I set, then, in an antiphonal manner so that the congregation could join in the refrain. The whole is punctuated by bell chords, and the organ (including 32’ reed) chimes in for the final refrain.”
Recorded 19 May 2009 in Christ Church Cathedral, Montréal, Québec, Canada, by Daniel Courville in 1st order Ambisonics using a SoundField ST350 microphone. Upmixed to 3rd order with the Harpex audio plug-in. https://harpex.net
