Description

Hey there, amazing viewers! I'm Fengbao, a 19-year-old girl with an insatiable passion for creating and performing finger dances. Today, I’m thrilled to present my latest video, where I combine finger dancing and live singing to the incredibly dynamic Errenzhuan version of "Love Is Like A Wind".

Let's start with the origins of this song. The original "Love Is A Gust of Wind" is a timeless Hokkien duet released in 1995. Crafted by lyricists Chen Weixiang and Chen Baitan, and composed by Chen Baitan, it was included in the album "Hokkien Love Song Duets" by Zhuo Yiting and Lin Zhenghua. The song uses the metaphor of wind to describe the unpredictable nature of love. Lyrics like "Love is like a gust of wind, coming without a trace and leaving without a shadow" vividly capture the blend of infatuation and regret, making it a classic in Hokkien music. It has been re-released multiple times, with a 2012 KTV version amassing over 2.21 million views and a 2023 original accompaniment version.

The Errenzhuan version I’m featuring today brings a whole new flavor to this classic. Performed by the talented artist Jiuerhong and released as a single on March 24, 2025, this adaptation stands out for its cultural fusion. Another notable adaptation by the Northeast comedy group Gao Zhao, Can Ge, and Lao Han has gained massive popularity, with 4.69 million views on Bilibili. The humorous title, "Hokkien music meets Errenzhuan in an unexpected twist", perfectly sums up the cultural collision.

In this Errenzhuan adaptation, while the core melody of the original song is retained, it’s infused with distinct Errenzhuan elements. The lyrics are transformed into Northeast dialect, replacing the Hokkien words. Traditional folk instruments like suona and bowed huqin are added, intensifying the rhythm. Moreover, it incorporates rap sections, witty dialogues, and comical interludes, which are typical of Errenzhuan performances. The shift from a lyrical duet to a character-driven performance is remarkable, with performers adopting exaggerated roles to tell the story, staying true to the Errenzhuan tradition of "telling stories through song and dance".

In my video, I’ve choreographed a finger dance that synchronizes seamlessly with the energetic beats and humorous nuances of the Errenzhuan version. Each finger movement reflects the dynamic changes in the song, from the playful dialogues to the powerful musical crescendos. When I sing along, I aim to capture the essence of the comical yet passionate narrative. Whether you’re a fan of cultural fusions, Errenzhuan art, or simply love unique finger dance performances, this video is sure to entertain. Don’t forget to hit the like button, share it with your friends, and subscribe to my channel for more exciting finger dance and sing-along content!
