Throughout all the movies that Elvis' was cast in could boast cinematography as stunning as that which captured the final scene in his 1961 movie "Blue Hawaii". The stunning Hawaiian background coupled with an absolute plethora of colour and a more than decent closing song makes this scene one of the most memorable in all of Elvis' filmography.

Elvis recorded that final song, 'Hawaiian Wedding Song' on 22 March 1961 in Hollywood, California at Radio Recorders and it was the third track recorded that day. The master track was achieved in just two takes and additional vocal overdubs were added later that same day.

'Hawaiian Wedding Song' was first performed live by Elvis, on 6 November 1971 at both of his shows in Cleveland, Ohio and for much of that particular tour. Whilst he would occasionally return to the song, it was not until 1974 that it became a regular feature in his show. In 1977 it was again sung less frequently and it appears that Elvis used it only once on his final tour, the final version in Rapid City on 21 June 1977. Elvis concluded the song, as he often did, with a kiss and a scarf for Kathy Westmoreland who had been dueting with him on the song.

Elvis also recorded another version on the stage of the Honolulu International Center on 14 January 1973 after the 'Aloha' special for inclusion in the post production sequences.
