Korean music with nature 'Suryongeum'
'Suryongeum' describes the singing of a dragon from the sea, who will eventually fly to the heavens and disappear from the secular world.
The singing dragon is a metaphor for the intangibility of music which is ethereal and fleeting, but all the more precious for that.
'Suryongeum' is usually played as a duet on the Korean vertical danso flute and saenghwang mouth argan.
Played here as a danso solo emphasises the elegance and deeply spiritual melody of the piece.
