I set my foot upon the Giant’s Path;
With the strength of hills, with the stone’s own magic,

Spoke gently: “Today you are but a child,
Yet within you hides the shadow of Fionn;
I shall let you keep it, guarded in secret words.”

A mighty foe, keen-eared, cold of heart,
Listening to the tales of the ancient angels;
But with a cunning smile I left you lost,
Outwitted you beneath the light of the sun.

With stones long-laid, and the sea’s song underfoot,
A road was raised to Scotland’s shore;
From Antrim to the ocean, from tale to tale,

I still hear the wind pouring through the rocks,
I hear the women’s voices singing with love;
