Ever heard about Koh Samet Island in Thailand?

Just a 2 1/2 - 3-hour drive from bustling Bangkok.

Koh Samet Island is fairly small, making it the perfect destination for a 2-3 day trip.

Here is some of my best tips for the island. Make sure to save them for your trip to Koh Samet:

Travel to Koh Samet during weekdays; it will be a lot cheaper and less busy. This is because Koh Samet is the favorite island of people living in Bangkok.

Koh Samet only has one beach on the west side where the sunset is going to be: Prao Beach. The longest beach on the island is Sai Kaew Beach, where you'll find most restaurants and nightlife. This beach is located on the island's North/East side and is easily accessible from the island's pier.

The island has three 7-Elevens: one located at the pier, and the other two situated right in front of each other close to Sai Kaew Beach.

My personal favorite viewpoint on the island is the end of Koh Samet, at the island's southernmost point.

My favorite place to eat Thai food is at the food court located right next to the 2 7-Elevens. The food here is cheap and delicious.

The easiest way to get around the island is to rent a motorbike for a day trip around the island to visit the other beaches and viewpoints.
