The song was first recorded by Little Willie Littlefield on Federal- 12110. Recorded as "K.C. Loving", it became a huge R&B hit, eventually reaching #1.
The cover version by Wilbert harrison on Fury-1023 (1955) got more (shuffle-)beat and became a chartbuster for Harrison: #1, on both POP and R&B charts!
