Description

Originally performed in 1980, the play is about seven mentally ill patients and two drug addicts in a psychiatric hospital in West Beirut during the civil war. Even amid their hysteria and unrest, the patients start to make more sense than those trying to cure them. When the absurdity of the situation becomes contagious and spills over the entire medical staff, a radical decision is made.

Whether or not we will all be shocked back into the system – that produced this mess in the first place – depends on your interpretation of the ending.

عُرضت هذه المسرحية في بيروت عام 1980. تجري أحداثها في مستشفى للأمراض العقلية بالمنطقة الغربية من بيروت وتتناول يوميات سبعة مرضى يعانون أمراضاً نفسية نتيجة الحرب، بالإضافة إلى مدمنَين اثنين على المخدرات. بالرغم من اضطراباتهم العصبية، تبدو هواجس المرضى مشروعة وواقعية جداً. بعد فشل جميع طرق العلاج التقليدية، تبدأ الأجواء العبثية
