Description
FUNICULÌ FUNICULÀ is one of the most popular and famous Neaplitan song written in 1880 by Giuseppe Turco, the music was composed by Luigi Denza.
The text was inspired by the inauguration of the first Vesuvius funicular, built in 1879, to reach the top of Vesuvius.
The song reached an international success and was also arranged in orchestral form by Nikolaj Rimskij-Korsakov with the title ''Canzone napoletana'' (op. 63 - 1907) and in a Richard Strauss' symphonic poem.
FUNICULÌ FUNICULÀ is tracks n. 9 of my trio album NAPOLI JAZZ SONGS, recorded in Toronto (Canada) @Number 9 Studios, mixed in Rome by Sergio ''Guru'' Barlozzi, mastered in Milan @Indie Hub Studios, published by Abeat Record in Italy.
