RECIPE for this dish 👇👇👇 :
UKADICHE MODAK : Sweet steamed Modak, Ganpati Bappa’s Favourite !!!
INGREDIENTS FOR DOUGH👇 :
1 cup rice flour
1 cup water
1 tsp ghee
½ tsp salt
INGREDIENTS FOR FILLING👇 :
1 cup grated coconut
¾ cup jaggery powder
½ tsp cardamom powder
½ cup chopped dry fruits
1 tsp ghee
EQUIPMENT REQUIRED👇 :
Saucepan
Frying pan
Steamer
Modak moulds
Muslin cloth
METHOD👇:
Boil water, add salt, ghee, switch off flame
Add rice flour, stir, cover and wait 15 min
Heat ghee in frying pan, add jaggery, stir 3-5min, lower heat
To melted jaggery, add grated coconut, cardamom powder & dry fruit
Stir for 5 min, mix thoroughly mix, switch off heat
Knead dough with hands greased in ghee
Roll dough into balls, keep covered with wet muslin cloth
Fill greased mould with a dough ball
Press dough against side of mould, creating cavity in the middle
Fill empty space with coconut jaggery filling
Close mould, open and remove the shaped modak
Gently steam modaks in a steamer for 10 min, and cool
