"gentleman jack" is one of my absolute favorite tv shows ever! it's based on the true story of anne lister, a woman dubbed "the first modern lesbian" due to how she kept a record of all of her relationships with women in a coded diary (of course, lgbt+ people have existed far beyond her time, but she is considered "the first modern lesbian" at least in the west).

i am entirely in love with the way this show portrays sapphic intimacy and love, and so i simply had to sing the song that inspired its creation. i'm so happy that this show exists.
