Featuring Pink Martini lead singer China Forbes in a duet with very special guest, NPR "All Things Considered" host Ari Shapiro, this uplifting blend of the classic songs "Get Happy" and "Happy Days are Here Again" was first heard on episode 9 of The Judy Garland Show, in an iconic duet sung by Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand, taped on Oct. 4, 1963 and broadcast by CBS two days later. Pink Martini recorded the medley for their 2013 album "Get Happy" and it has been in their regular concert repertoire ever since, especially when regular guest singer Ari Shapiro joins the band on stage. This performance, also featuring bandleader Thomas M. Lauderdale on piano, comes from the band's August 11, 2021 performance at legendary Wolf Trap, outside of Washington DC, one of the band's first live performances back on tour after the long COVID 2020/21 hiatus.
