Description
- Tropical Oscuro de Pavlov is the third song of The Inca's Suit (EP) by Gizmo Varillas.
With an iconic and balanced mixture of English and Spanish -as delicate brush-strokes on his lyrics notebook, the most part of ‘The Inca’s Suit’ combines the passion of Gizmo Varillas (was born in Santander, grew up in Cardiff, currently living in London) for two different worlds: the rock and pop scene of the UK, and the vintage and vanguard sounds coming up from Latin America.
It is best to think of this EP as the beginning of a relationship between the new generations of two continents, musically closer each other than a few years ago with London as exciting landscape.
To create this Dark Tropical environment which remembers the most dazzling and intriguing Devendra Barnhart or Rodrigo Amarante, Gizmo Varillas remakes four original tracks by the Spanish indie band Hazte Lapón, who creates a genuine style by Italian songs from the 60s until our days (Franco Battiato), synthpop (The Magnetic Fields) and the British pop of the latest 20 years (Pulp, The Jesus and Mary Chain).
