Glenn Miller was one of the most famous and popular jazz musicians of the 1940s, along with Benny Goodman and Tommy Dorsey. He needs no introduction, weather your young or old you have heard songs by Glenn Miller. This song here has to be one of his, if not his most, famous song ever.

He and his orchestra started recording on the Brunswick record label in 1937. In 1938 he switched to Bluebird which is where he would mainly stay on record until 1944. He would have a few records on His Masters Voice and RCA Victor, but almost always on Bluebird.
His first major hit was In The Mood which came out in 1939, but became popular and a hit in 1940. Also this version came out in 1940 as well. His next hit would come a few records later as Little Brown Jug also in 1939. Followed by Three Little Fishies. Then in 1940 there was a big hit called Pennsylvania Six-Five Thousand. Then followed by The Woodpecker Song, Star Dust, Tuxedo Junction, Sierra Sue, King Porter Stomp, and A String Of Pearls. In 1941 there was a big movie hit called Jukebox Saturday Night, followed by Anvil Chorus, Moonlight Sonata, Chattanooga Choo Choo, and many others. In 1942 there was Don't Sit Under The Apple Tree, Moonlight Cocktail, Kalamazoo, The Lamplighter Serenade, and a lot more. In 1943 and 1944, he started doing more on His Master's Voice and there were less hits. In 1944, Glenn Miller died in a plane accident, his orchestra continued on without him, they never made many hits after. mostly just a bunch of re-releases.

Glenn Millers music will always live on, long after youtube, Long after this century's internet, his music will always be around us.
