Description
Slightly warped tape found in a box of "self-help" cassettes donated to a local thrift store. Same program on both sides.
"Om: Namah Shivaya, known as the "great T redeeming mantra," is the mantra of the Siddha lineage. "'Om" is the primordial vibra- tion from which the universe has arisen. "Namah Shivaya" means "I honor Shiva," the all-pervasive Self. Chanting this great mantra purifies the body and mind, and awakens one to the experience of the inner Self.
This version of Om Namah Shivaya is chanted to a melody based on the classical Indian Bhupali Raga, which inspires feelings of deep contentment, harmony, and detachment. The melody was originally composed in January 1989 for the Ganeshpuri Fire Course.
This recording is from the last day of the Blue Pearl Experience Course, which was held in the Meditation Hall at Shri Muktananda Ashram, South Fallsburg, New York on September 16, and broadcast live over the world."
