The moment I listened to "Halston" by Stephan Moccio, I felt a complex set of emotions. I've listened to the track countless times, and I cry each time I listen to it. Halston's story is equal parts heroic and tragic, and Stephan captured those aspects masterfully in his solo piano piece.
There are so many of Stephan's tracks that make a great canvas for string arrangements, but this one draws the most emotion. I used the first 2:30 excerpt of the track and incorporated layers from Finale's Garritan as well as Spitfire Audio libraries to capture the nuances of the piece.
If you haven't researched Halston or watched the documentary, I highly recommend it.
