Baritone Christopher Purves and AAM Principal Trumpet David Blackadder perform 'The Trumpet Shall Sound' from Handel's Messiah in this full-length film, accompanied by the Academy of Ancient Music, under Music Director Richard Egarr.

The libretto for Messiah was written by Charles Jennens, and this aria features words from 1 Corinthians (15.52-3). A glorious duet for baritone and trumpet, 'The Trumpet Shall Sound' comes at the beginning of Part III of Messiah.
