Description
Chopin´s Nocturne No.20 in C Sharp Minor, performed by Vladimir Ashkenazy..
Chopin's Nocturne No. 20, was published posthumously 26 years after the composer's death. The nocturne was composed by Frédéric Chopin in the year 1830 for the piano. He dedicated this work to his older sister, Ludwika Chopin, with the statement: "To my sister Ludwika as an exercise before beginning the study of my second Concerto".
The Nocturne was featured in the Oscar award-winning Roman Polanski film "The Pianist"., played incompletely twice. However, the complete piece is provided in the soundtrack, played by Polish classical pianist Janusz Olejniczak. It was also featured in the recent 2010 film "Karate Kid", violin transcription played by the young Chinese girl during her audition.
