“Help!” [TRUE REAL VOICES] Alvin And The Chipmunks & The Chipettes (w/ process)

this is just a little fun video I decided to do now that I got clean vocals for Brittany and Alvin, to tell people how the process goes.
*Just to start off: many “real voices” on YouTube or TikTok are most likely false. The singers sing at different speeds for each chipmunk/chipette as shown and proven in this video.*

BRITTANY: It took more a while to figure out Brittany’s real voice because it sounded lower than how Alana sounds and sings. For Brittany, Alana puts on a lower voice to differentiate her singing from Alvin’s. I like to call it her “real/chest singing voice” as for when she sings as Alvin, it’s more of a head voice. I was lost between speeds 60-64 because they all sounded like her real voice, just one speed was higher pitched than the other. That’s when I thought “if [selected speed] is what she really sounded when she sang this song, then if I put [selected speed] on top of the instrumental, then it should sound real and not artificial or off key in any way.” So, that’s what I did. I ended up with selecting 60 speed because it wasn’t off-key and the notes aligned pretty good for the chipette voice she did. Why did this work? Because when I used some of my friends’ singing voices for ALVINNN covers, they would sing in full speed with their real voice. I would have to speed it up to where it sounds like a chipmunk, find out what’s the opposite of that speed, then slow down the instrumental AND their sped up voice to the found opposite speed—but removing the pitch from their voice to where it sounds like they’e singing in half speed. Then, once I compose and mix it all, speed it up to the correct song pitch, it sounded like a chipmunk voice.

ALVIN: It was pretty easy to figure out for Alvin because I’ve seen the “How We Roll” BTS, special video. Alvin is more of a head voice for her, it seems like.
