Welcome to Holly Jukebox 2020!

No getting around it - this is one if the greatest songs ever written... it's 'Smile' by Nat King Cole! Big Happiest of Birthdays to the fabulous Rachel, to whom this song is dedicated 💙

Over the last 3 weeks since finding out I'd be playing this tune, I have rather re-fallen in love with the music of Nat King Cole. Seriously. It is so incredibly comforting, and ohhh his voice. The way it makes me feel to listen to his music, and to play this song... what a total dream. I'd go so far as to say it's my favourite Jukebox tune I've EVER played (but I shouldn't have favourites, so I won't)... but it's just total pleasure from start to end for me.

Chris was sat next to me when I filmed this and said it was 'like spreading honey on my face' 😄 Hope you enjoy as much as I did!

WHAT'S HOLLY JUKEBOX?
Now somewhat of a Christmas tradition in my house, the Holly Jukebox Challenge is a self-imposed charity song marathon between 1st - 25th December.

The deal: In exchange for a donation to York Mind, I take song requests from my family & friends & supporters in the month leading up to the challenge, then upload a request every day in December to my YouTube channel (http://www.youtube.com/hollytaymar) and Facebook & Instagram (@hollytaymar)

The reason I do this is to:

1. Keep me out of mischief in the big bad Winter

2. Spread some festive cheer and hopefully a few laughs as I try and get to grips with all manner of requests

3. Raise some much needed cash for awesome local charity York Mind!

I think we can all agree that 2020 has tried it's best to batter our collective mental (and physical) health, and I'm super-excited to kick this year where it hurts by doing something good and raising as much as I can to help folks who are really struggling.
