This is "Hometown" from my album "Between you and me" (2022). I want the song to be a grateful tribute to "every little place of ours", and at the same time remind us again of a very beneficial "lucky event" on a somewhat more "macro level": To be born to life in Norway is to win in history's and the lottery of geography. We get to take the "win" with empathic humility! I think we are allowed to exercise some healthy patriotism towards our hometown/city. Our sense of place, and love for our hometown is probably quite central on several levels. Is it perhaps a little "easier" to live there? Do we perhaps feel a secure feeling of "belonging"? It is actually not unreasonable to claim that when all basic needs are met, belonging to someone...belonging to a place...is incredibly important. ... Maybe something to direct our thoughts towards every now and then ... Yes, if we feel in that situation then !
