Description
John Hiatt has been recording since 1970 for artists from Three Dog Night to Roseann Cash to Freddy Fender. He was not content on writing folk or country tunes, and in the late seventies to early eighties was compared to "new wave" artists such as Graham Parker and Nick Lowe - the latter with whom he collaborated.
Hiatt has recorded nearly two dozen albums with a multitude of other artists, and has won several awards for his music. Other artists Hiatt has worked with include Bonnie Raitt, Faith No More, Joe Bonamassa and Jim Keltner.
"I Look for Love," the first song on his All of A Sudden album, begins with a driving synth melody reminiscent of Gary Numan, with a vocal that is a cross between Huey Lewis and Elvis Costello (another co-songwriter). If this is your introduction to this illustrious artist - you'll want to listen on! .
Due to heavy time restraints and long lines, this week's product is one song, while I prepare other medleys. (Cliche alert:) I hope you enjoy it as much as I did when I recorded it.
